Dear ThermoBlok,

 

I just wanted to express my pleasant surprise at the dramatic difference that ThermoBlok radiant insulation has made to the comfort of my basement. It is now a warm, dry and mildew free space where I can enjoy the company of my friends and has provided additional room for guest bedrooms that feel anything but like a basement.

The other added bonus was the energy savings that you had promised, and I am happy to report that my heating bill (despite the mild winter) was a welcome 26.5 % lower than the same period the year before.

I will be doing the attic next, before the summer heat, since I can believe you when you say that ThermoBlok will save me a comparable amount on my air conditioning costs.

I won't hesitate to tell my friends about the comfort and savings that I am enjoying.

            I own a pig farm in Moorefield, Ontario. Last year I added a new section to my sow barn. The only insulation I used was 1-inch ThermoBlok reflective insulation (foil on one side and woven white poly on the other).

 

            The old section of the barn was insulated with R30 cellulose blown-in insulation. During the winter months I noticed the new section had almost no condensation while the old section had quite a bit. The heaters in the old section came on much more often than in the new section with ThermoBlok.

 

            In the summer the results were the opposite of the winter results. Thermometer readings showed that the ThermoBlok insulated side was cooler. It kept the heat out better than the R30 cellulose.

 

            I highly recommend your product.

            I built a woodworking shop for my business in 2007 and I insulated the interior of the building – walls and ceiling – with your reflective rigid board insulation (4 x 8 sheets, 1-inch thick).

 

            This was the only insulation used, so I was amazed when I took temperature readings in January 2008. The outside temperature was minus 16° C. The temperature in the attic (above the insulated ceiling) was also minus 16° C.  What really impressed me was that the inside surface temperature of the ceiling was 16° C above zero. These extreme temperatures of the ceiling were separated by only 1-inch-thick sheet of your insulation.

 

            What incredible performance!
